TAR AND FEATHERS

I’ll be dipped, a predictive statement
Where tarred ocean waves touch the shore
There will be no birds or fish to forage and score.

Grease my palm, a prophetic term for angling
Income and life style from the ocean
Where greased palms with karma is a black lotion.

If there’s an ass to kick let’s kick it
If there’s an individual to censure
Let’s requisition it.

Tar and feathers, a popular punishment of yore
And used by people to even keel a score
If birds and fish could talk they’d say,
“We fly and swim and never use gasses
So confused we ask, “Why paint our asses?”

BOARDWALK CONTROVERSY

SEASIDE HEIGHTS - After a maelstrom of media attention last week, operators of a suddenly controversial boardwalk game have removed a mannequin depicting President Barack Obama.

Obama has been replaced by effigies of former President George W. Bush and Hillary Clinton.  Although some people were offended by use of Obama as a target, other visitors to the boardwalk simply saw it as a game...
Arcade manager Tom Whalen says the removal of the Obama mannequin was to show that the Walkin' Charlie game isn't anti-Democrat or anti-Republican.
A plastic bag was placed over the Obama character's head on Aug. 11, after critics said it was disrespectful to use the president's likeness.

Whalen said he told a Secret Service agent who visited the business that employees did not urge players to throw at the Obama image.  Whalen said the Obama figure might return in a few weeks...
